Punjab Police Removes Barricades at Shambhu and Khanauri Borders After 13 Months

The police have also removed the barricades that had been in place for 13 months at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders.
Chaos erupted in Punjab after police cleared protesting farmers from the Shambhu and Khanauri borders, leading farmers to block highways. So far, clashes have occurred between the police and farmers at four locations.

The section of the Shambhu border connecting Punjab to Haryana has been reopened, allowing passage. DIG Harmanbir Gill confirmed that people can now travel through this route, and the side going from Ambala to Rajpura is also being opened.
Additionally, farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal has been moved to the PWD Rest House in Jalandhar Cantonment, which is under military control. Police detained several farmer leaders who had come to meet him, leading to a scuffle during the operation.
