Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre has called for a special session of Parliament following Jagmeet Singh’s announcement, which he claims signals the Trudeau government has lost its majority.
Poilievre stated that he is writing to the Governor General, urging her to determine whether the Prime Minister still has the confidence of the House or if the country must head to an election.
He further criticized the Liberal government, asserting that the country cannot function under its current leadership. Poilievre also targeted Jagmeet Singh, accusing the NDP leader of posturing.
He remarked that Singh made a similar claim in September, suggesting he would withdraw support for Trudeau but ultimately continued to back the Liberal government. Notably, the NDP also supported the Liberals during the Conservatives’ recent motion against the government.
