Opposition is intensifying against Indo-Canadian candidate Viresh Bansal, who is contesting the Ontario provincial election. Vicky Dhillon, the Ontario Liberal Party candidate from Brampton East, has also launched a campaign against Bansal. Dhillon has written a letter to the party, urging that Bansal be removed as the Liberal Party candidate for the Oshawa riding.

Dhillon stated that Bansal's comments are inexcusable. He criticized Bansal for not only verbally attacking various communities, including the Sikh community, but also for using offensive language against federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. Dhillon has called for Bansal's immediate removal from the candidacy.

It is important to note that Bansal made controversial comments in 2023 in response to a post by NDP leader Jagmeet Singh regarding the Indian government's involvement in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Bansal also made objectionable remarks about Prime Minister Trudeau. The World Sikh Organization of Canada has since called on the Ontario Liberal Party to reject Bansal's candidacy.
