As Canada prepares for its federal election vote on April 28, a major leaders' debate will take place featuring leaders from the Liberal Party, Conservative Party, NDP, Bloc Quebecois, and the Green Party.

The Leaders' Debate Commission, the government agency organizing the event, has confirmed that the Green Party has met two of the three required criteria to participate in the debates, scheduled for April 16 and 17. However, the People's Party of Canada did not qualify for participation.

The debates will include a French-language face-to-face debate on April 16 and an English-language debate on April 17, both set to take place in Montreal.
