Indian actor and comedian Vir Das is set to take the stage as the host of the 2024 International Emmy Awards. Celebrating outstanding television programming from across the globe, the prestigious event will unfold on November 25 in New York City. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the news on Wednesday. Having previously been both nominated for and awarded International Emmys, Das shared his enthusiasm and appreciation for this exciting opportunity to lead the ceremony.
Taking to social media to share his thrilling news, Vir Das expressed his joy with a heartfelt message: "Thanks to your incredible support, an Indian Emmy Host! I’m beyond excited to host the @iemmys this year! It’s going to be an incredible experience. Thank you so much for this honor and opportunity!" Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan responded with enthusiasm, commenting, "Wow, that’s fantastic! Well done, Vir!"
In addition to his stand-up comedy, Vir Das has made significant strides in television. He has not only created and produced but also starred in a variety of noteworthy series. These include the ABC spy drama-comedy Whiskey Cavalier, the gripping Netflix thriller Hasmukh, and the adventurous travel show Jestination Unknown for Amazon. His film credits feature appearances in Judd Apatow’s The Bubble.
