In a poignant appeal, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has reached out to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, urging him to leverage his influence to remove a donkey from the sets of the reality show Bigg Boss 18. The animal, introduced as the 19th contestant named Gadhraj, has sparked significant public concern.

In a letter addressed to Salman Khan, PETA India expressed that they have been inundated with complaints from viewers who are profoundly disturbed by the presence of the donkey in the Bigg Boss house. “Their concerns are valid and must not be ignored,” the letter emphasized.

PETA representative Shaurya Agrawal urged the Tiger 3 star to advocate for a shift in the show's production practices, stating, “This would not only alleviate stress for the animals and discomfort for viewers but also set a powerful precedent in the entertainment industry.”

The letter further requested that the donkey be surrendered to PETA India for “rehoming in a sanctuary,” where it could live among other rescued donkeys. The organization highlighted the distressing conditions the donkey faces on set, including confinement in a small space and exposure to the harsh realities of a television production environment, which can be especially troubling for prey animals like donkeys.
