Bollywood actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is preparing for the debut of her highly anticipated period political drama "Emergency," scheduled for release on September 6, 2024.
Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, "Emergency" is a grand-scale portrayal of one of the most contentious chapters in Indian democratic history. At its core is the larger-than-life figure of India's first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
Confirming the new release date, Kangana Ranaut of Manikarnika Films stated, "I draw profound inspiration from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The essence of 'Emergency' lies in the havoc wreaked when ambition operates without moral boundaries. Undoubtedly, this period represents one of the most sensational episodes in Indian democracy, and I eagerly await its global unveiling on September 6, 2024."
The ensemble cast of "Emergency" includes Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. With music by Sanchit Balhara and screenplay/dialogues by Ritesh Shah, the film promises to captivate audiences with its dramatic narrative.
