215 wildfires burning in B.C. as evacuation alerts and orders scale down

The wildfire situation is continually evolving, and the information below is current as of 7 p.m. (Pacific time) on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021.

Wildfires burning in B.C.: 215

Since April 1, 2021:

1,564 wildfires

865,307 hectares of area burned

Active fires by fire centre:

Cariboo: 24

Coastal: 17

Kamloops: 62

Northwest: 6

Prince George: 49

Southeast: 57

Resources:

Firefighters and other personnel fighting the fires: 2,522

Out-of-province firefighters: 434

Helicopters and planes supporting ground crews: 63

Evacuations:

Evacuation orders: 12 (-5)

Evacuation alerts: 45 (-4)

Properties:

Number of properties on order: 1,182 (-1,384)

Number of properties on alert: 4,691 (+791)
